BAITING INSTRUCTIONS
for the large re-usable trap
Lift Lid, unfold bag
Straighten out the mesh cone
Add bait + 1 Tablespoon of local soil.
Add one litre of luke warm water from kettle. Best to use water that has settled for 24 hours.
Replace the turret
Hang the redtop outside
Dispose of sensibly
Notes:

When you straighten out the mesh cone, make sure that the hole at its apex is open.
Add 1 Tablespoon of local soil to add local organisms to the trap. Add egg or mince to accelerate the process. When adding water, if the water is milky, allow to stand for 24 hours before use. You may also add water to bait and store in a bottle for four days to pre-activate the bait and then pour into the trap. This is especially effective when re-filling the re-usable traps.
When replacing the turret, fit the legs of the turret into the notches in the cover dish, then twist to lock in position.
Hang the Redtop outside in a suitable position with sufficient sunlight. Not closer than 5 metres from fly breeding areas. It usually takes a few days before the traps start working.

When the trap is full or no longer effective, place the trap into an old plastic shopping bag and then into the garbage. You may also slit the bag and mix the contents into the soil in your garden. Wear gloves and make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after disposing of the trap.
